My VA Community Engagement Boards are a national effort of the former VA Secretary, staffed by Veteran-centric community stakeholders whose purpose is to develop local solutions for Veterans and their families and ease their access to all the resources available to Veterans. They leverage community assets, not just VA assets to help ensure the solutions meet the needs. Each state has a Veteran Engagement Board. The New Hampshire chapter has been operational since 2016.
Over the past two years, the NHCVEB has conducted listening sessions around the state to build understanding and clarify meaningful outcomes for CVEB activities. New Hampshire is blessed with a strong support and services network that works directly with veterans and their families, but too often the community at large is disengaged and disconnected from the people within it that have served or are currently serving in America's military. How can we, as New Hampshire communities work to accept veterans when they return home and yet remain vigilant to their needs, and those of their families, for a lifetime?
The New Hampshire CVEB is chaired by Dan Marcek, President of Vetflix, and includes leaders from New Hampshire's nonprofit world, academia, service providers and business communities.
